Oral History

The first phase of the project focuses on collecting in-depth interviews with women who have lived under gender apartheid. These interviews, conducted in their preferred languages, document their personal experiences, the systems that controlled their lives, and the ways they resisted or navigated these restrictions. In addition to recorded testimonies, photographs and personal artefacts will be archived to provide further historical and cultural context. An independent ethics board will oversee the process, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy. This phase establishes a permanent record of lived experiences, forming the foundation for the book and documentary.
