About Us

Our project is a passionate response to the ongoing realities of gender apartheid—a system that imposes systemic discrimination based on gender, denying individuals basic freedoms and equality. Through this initiative, we aim to create an archive of oral histories, publish a compelling book, and produce a documentary film to shed light on these lived experiences.

At the heart of our project is Fatemeh Ekhtesari, a critically acclaimed poet, writer, and activist. Fatemeh’s own life has been deeply shaped by gender apartheid. As someone who has faced censorship, persecution, and exile for her work and beliefs, she brings profound insight and an unyielding commitment to justice and equality. Her personal experiences inspire this project’s mission to amplify voices often silenced or overlooked.

We are dedicated to this work because we believe storytelling has the power to change the world. By recording, sharing, and preserving these stories, we hope to foster understanding, inspire dialogue, and contribute to global efforts to challenge and dismantle gender inequality.

This is more than a project—it’s a movement for awareness, solidarity, and change. Thank you for joining us on this journey.
